<3 HECK YEAH.
I made these in the flurry of joy surrounding the new pokemon games: Black and White.
These took about 3 hours to totally redo.
This included removing all stitchwork, the logos, extra fabric, designing, and dying.
I used a mixture of Sharpie, and iron ink.
The base was a pair of Airwalks. (They were about 4 years old, and I was going to throw them out, and then my cosplay side took over. XD
The Katakana says "Pokemon" which is short hand for "Poketto monsuta" : D
